This aim of this program is to educate the community on the importance of supporting the business community through youth groups. Businesses would allow these groups or individuals to come into the workplace to observe or participate in the daily operations. This will give the groups a better understanding of how businesses work and also introduce them to career opportunities. Participation in the program could possibly become criteria for the scholarship or the Business person of the Year award. (The Ashwood Community Girl Scouts have already expressed interest in participating.)
This program will encourage a dialogue among businesses, local schools, government and other entities that purchase outside the area when services or products can be found in their own community.
It would be a benefit to both the community and businesses if these groups would come together to find unique ways to partner with each other when choosing fundraising programs for school projects or functions. This could both encourage economic growth and increase community spirit.
